Bandwidth Problems - Because of the huge amount of people viewing the Atlanta Photos, and voting in the poll, the site has exceeded it's daily bandwidth limit for the past 2 days in a row [ this page is safe since it's on a different server], which is quite embarrassing considering I thought that there'd be enough when I chose Brinkster as a host just a few months ago. Anyway, this means that the site will be unavailable until around 5.00am tomorrow morning Irish time, which sucks. So I'll be trying to get the photos on a different server for the meantime, since I'm gonna be putting up Dave's photos sometime during the next week.

With the March competition the hot topic at present, the message boards - Tallaght & Borg are particularly interesting, as is the Q-Zar Newsgroup. Go. Post. Have an opinion.

The first set of 42 photos from the Q-Zar Atlanta Tournament 2002 are up on the website, just go through the photos page and enjoy. Also, I have created a poll for people to vote over the number of players per team for the March competition. And that's that.

A small update now, Quasar Coolock's [Angela's site] address has changed, well not so much changed as it is still www.beam.to/quasar, so it's just that www.netsoc.ucd.ie/~adwane will no longer work, because she has changed the server to Angelfire or something. Play Mortal Kombat-Zar!

We had 3 games for Regs Night yesterday, with 5 Masters Of The Universe players: Dave McMahon, Conor Farrell, Al McMahon, Dave Sheils and Kevin McMahon; plus the KY trio of Ger, Colin and Al O'Loughlin making the teams 4 on 4. Maybe KY should get 2 more players so we could have a challenge match or something. The games weren't too bad, although the packs weren't great, and suffered from a few obvious low batteries, but my only complaint is that the games were too slow, and there were only patches of genuinely good play. I personally attribute my being pissed off with the fact that Liverpool [or rather Michael Owen] were unable to score on a team managed by Christian Gross, plus the fact that certain people [you know who you are] opted for a policy of lazy play which involved taking shots on sight. This obviously led to a breakdown in teamwork, and too many Blondies in one game.

In the vein of familiar post-competition-over-enthusiasm, talk is plentiful of upcoming competitions, although the event scheduled for November seems to be being all but ignored. March is now the subject on everyone's minds, with the possible [and likely] visit of American teams, and discussion has already turned to number of players and rules. And trash talk between American and English players. I would suggest visiting the message boards and newsgroups to stay up to date with the situation.
"Good old rock - nothing beats that."

Just a small site update today, with some minor *tweaking* of some of the Player Profiles, and to spell check Dave Sheils name, which I had been spelling wrong all this time :) Q-Zar Atlanta photos, as taken by Alan and the rest, are being developed and I will hope to have them posted by this day week, as believe it or not, I might be busy.

In other insignificant news, earlier this week Quasar Tallaght got it's 1000th unique hit since the site relaunch at the end of July, and as I post this, the hits count stands at 1098. Woo Hoo! Thank you Google..

Two words: Flight Delay. A sickener for the returning ahem, heroes from the US, but also for those of us looking forward to regs night. The "team" had a seven hour approx. delay in Atlanta, which would mean that they would be back here at around 5.00pm today, but, now they are delayed in Gatwick aswell, and shouldn't be home until later tonight. This results in a low turnout for Regs Night tonight, which will still go ahead, and a lack of interesting stories. Plus explanations on American words such as props. In conclusion - This would be a particularly good regs night for Conor to actually attend.
- So any questions?
- How would I go about creating a half-man/half-monkey type creature?
- I'm sorry, that would be playing God.
- God Shmod, I want my monkey man!

Well, the Atlanta competition is over, and according to the few reports we've seen so far, the Irish team managed to place joint 9th out of 13 teams, with the competition using a double elimination format. Not that bad, but then again, not that great...[but it means that at least they beat one or two teams].On Friday last the 2s were held, Dave and Colin took their opponents to a replay before being eliminated, while Al [and Angela] beat one pair, but lost in the second round after a long game. All that's left for them to do is to buy lots of Q-related merchandise, and fly home. Depending on whether or not they took photos, they want to relenquish them and when or if they get them developed, I hope to put the competition photos from an Irish perspective on the Tallaght site in the next couple of weeks. So, is anyone playing in November??

A special Monday Night Regs Night was held last night, because of numerous reasons [see below], and the turnout was as usual. The 4 "Americans" were present, as were Kevin McMahon, Al O'Loughlin, Ger Byrne and Dave McMahon [who was working]. 3 games were played, although only 2 of note, since afterwards Blondie and Angela left. It must be contagious. Anywho, the Irish team going to America [Team Ireland is much easier] left this morning, and should be arriving in Atlanta later on today. Good Luck! - you're going to need it...

We could have had a couple of 5 on 5 games during regs night, but Angela left for some reason after missing the first game, and so we were unbalanced. All of Masters Of The Universe [even John McGann] except Conor were present, plus KY players Ger, Colin and Blondie, and then Shane McHugh. Since we got the first game in early [because most people were on time] we got 4 half hour E2 games, which was good. Value for money in fact.

Next weeks regs night has been moved for a number of reasons - The Junior Cert results are out next Wednesday, so we would be unable to play, 4 people are going to America and Conor is working late on Tuesday [see what we have to do], so to accomodate everyone Regs Night in Tallaght is on Monday. This gives the opportunity for the America bound players to get some much needed last-minute practice before they fly out next Tuesday morning.

Just a small update today - 4 brand new wallpapers (oooh!) accessible through the downloads page (duh!) but they're made for screen resolutions of 800 × 600, so if yours is different - TS. Plus, Regs Night is TONIGHT!
