Regs night last night was a pretty standard one by all accounts, 5 v 4 for the first game, 4 v 4 for the second and 4 v 3 for the last. The teams for the first game were as follows: Green - Dave 2, Blondie, Ger, Paddy; Red - Al, Angela, Colin, Zack, Warren. Surprisingly, the Green team won by over 100pts, although on paper the reds had a far superior team. This was due to complacency and apathy on the part of certain members of the red team, ie Zack and Warren. There was a 30 min CP game at 8.30pm, so Angela had to leave after the first game (now that's value for your €8.90!) and so did Dave Sheils (had to study). I subbed for either or both of them, the teams for the next game were Kev, Blondie, Ger, Paddy (Red) versus Al, Colin, Zack, Warren (Green). The red team won by a small margin. Then came the horrible news from the Champions League final, and cue smugness for the AC "supporters" who really couldn't care less who won, so long as I didn't follow them. For the last game, KY players gave themselves up, and the teams were Colin, Ger, Blondie versus Al, Kev, Zack, Paddy (Warren wasn't feeling well). Unsurprisingly, our team won by around 200pts, and Zack got 4 bases. But still failed to get top gun. hehe.

Happy Birthday wishes to KY player Ger Byrne, who is 20 years old today."As a monkey I was so dumb I tried to wear a hat on my butt!"

Sunday Morning Club this morning was another small but good regs turnout, we managed to get 3 × 5 v 5, E2, 20 minute games in. There was a large CP contingent. The teams for the first game were: Green - Al, Kev, Colin, Karl L, Bort; Red - Dave S, Angela, Ger, Zack, Keith. It was a good, fun and competitive game, the Green team won by 161pts, although it didn't seem like such a large margin during the game. The next game was same teams, different colours, and the Red team won again, this time by slightly less - 148pts. Another good game. For the last game, everyone was too lazy to pick, so random team were made, and they ended up as follows: Green - Kev, Colin, Angela, Karl L, Keith; Red - Al, Dave S, Ger, Zack, Bort. The red team were winning throughout, and their lead started to slip in the last few minutes, but they kept it going long enough to win, by just under 50pts. There was no regs night last night. This was because most of us who play each Wednesday went to see the Matrix. There could have been a regs night for the people who weren't going to see the Matrix Reloaded, but Ger told them not to bother (well done...). The film was class, as expected, and I highly recommend it, despite the slanderous reviews that Crum has been circulating :)

Quasar Ireland, a website by Angela Dwane, was re-launched yesterday, with a new look and all-new features including new profiles and rankings. Check it out here.

Well, I must be getting lazy...or lazier. SMC yesterday was fun & there was a small turnout, 3 × 4 v 4 Super 3 games and a 3 v 3 E2 game, participants were Al, Conor, Dave2, Angela, Ger, Warren, Karl L., and Keith. The first game was quite close, whereas the last 3 games were more like landslides, as a result of the random team picking, since everyone was too lazy to volunteer to pick themselves. Luckily for the red energiser, the scumbag who sabotaged it last week in the CP games either didn't show, or was too scared to do it again. "This gun continually gets high scores, even in the hands of first time players. Simply Invincible."

A normal SMC was had this morning, it was rather quiet and the games were good - Al McMahon wasn't working so he played (badly) while Colin was in work. We played 3 games, the first was a 5 on 6 E2, while the second and third were E4 6 on 6. Participants were: Al, Conor, Dave 2, Kev, Angela, Blondie, Zack, Ger, Karl L, Warren, Keith and Bort (who didn't play the first game). As I said, the games were good (both in fun & standard) and the packs held up well, there was only 1 real complaint, which was minor. Also, there was trouble in the "CP" games, when an anonymous wanker not only knocked down the Red small energiser, but succeeded in ripping out the wires from the back of it. And Colin managed to fuck up the prize game like only he could :). Then we were off to see the Liverpool match...(quick, change the subject).. Ah, 20 bases in 20 minutes, just like old times...

Hit count: 10,000 since 03/08/02. Quasar Tallaght Online has managed to reach ten thousand unique visits since last August, when not only did I actually get up off my arse and learn html to redesign the site, but I also got a site tracking program. Excellente!!

Oh, and there was no Wednesday Night update because I wasn't there, It sounds as if it was eventful though. I will be around tomorrow though, for SMC and to see Liverpool get the unholy crap beaten out of them by Chelsea...."Get out of my BRAIN!!

Monday Morning Madness! this morning, 14 players and a bucket-load of games from 10am - 2pm for just €6.25. After the first 2 games, which were E4 6 v 6, (both Kev & Ger were late), the 12 players were split into 3 teams of 4, for a min-comp of 10 minute Supercharge 3 games. The teams were as follows: Team A: Karl K, Warren, Zack, Paddy; Team B: Dave S, Keith, Colin, Karl L; Team C: Blondie, Bort, Al, Eoin. The competition was close, with the teams beating each other, but in the end Team B won, by 1 victory over Team C, while Team A only managed a single victory. After this had finished, and Karl Kelly left for work, we had 2 more E4 games, which were Al, Dave, Kev, Bort, Keith, Eoin versus Blondie, Colin, Warren, Karl, Paddy, Zack. The 3 MOTU + SMC team won both games by around 100pts each. And that was that. Next up - Wednesday Night! "I see your 'Gyughhh!' and raise you a Nyaghhh!"

SMC this morning was quite eventful, and definitely fun! 4 games, all of which were 5 on 4 Super 3, 20 mins, participants included: Conor, Dave S, Keith, Eoin, Warren, Paddy, Colin, Zack and Ger. For the first game, the teams (as picked by yours truly) were Dave S, Colin, Warren, Keith & Eoin versus Conor, Ger, Paddy and Zack. The former won by quite a distance, so it was decided to change the teams for the next game. The new teams were Conor, Dave, Keith and Eoin versus the rest, and the first game was a perfect draw, 243 to 243. Naturally, They then went in for same teams different colurs, but "the rest" won out by around 70pts in that one. The final game was a joke, actually, with the 3 Jammy Dodgers, Keith & Eoin, versus Dave, Conor, Ger, Colin - who obviously won. The JDs decided to use a massive foam mattress (presumably for the Zoo) as a shield, but it didn't help. Especially when the opposition decided to use "death from above" by climbing up on the ramps and balconies. There was also fun to be had in meddling with the CPs games, which almost resulted in an appearance by Paolo Di Canio. I'm sorry, but only 3 people in the world will get that joke...

After a week of horror, I finally have web stats back in working order, which means I can see EVERYTHING about people who visit this site. As for the Italian players, either they exist, or someone actually went to Italy as part of an elaborate hoax, since the IP of the person getting in touch is really from Italy.

For all those interested (ie, Tallaght regs who play SMC and Regs Night, plus those who were invited), there will be another Monday Morning Madness tomorrow, it being a bank holiday and all. The price will probably be the usual €5 - €7, and fun and games of Q will be had. Until then."An accident......waiting to happen"

It's been a while, since Saturday actually, and there was no SMC post since I was tired and blah, blah (some pathetic "conoresque" excuse) and now I forgotten what happened. Anyway, since Regs Night was only yesterday, I do remember and it was another large turnout, and some pretty good games. The first game started as a 7 on 6 but ended up as 8 on 7 after John and Karl went in late to mess up the game, to say the least. The second game was 8 on 8, E4 naturally, and the teams were as follows - Green: Kev, Al, John McG, Craig, Ger McC, Paddy, Karl L, and Nialls; Red: Karl K, Dave S, John L, Blondie, Ger B, Zack, Warren, Jamie. The teams turned out to be amazingly unfair, with the Green team clocking the scoreboard and winning by around 400pts, but expectedly, some of the red team blamed the packs, because it couldn't possibly be that our team was much better.... The third game was a 7 v 7, since both John Lynch and Dave Sheils sat out due to their phoney injuries, and because the games were just a bit too crowded. The teams for this one were: Green: Kev, John McG, Paddy, Zack, Warren, Karl L, Karl K versus Red: Al, Blondie, Ger McC, Craig, Ger B, Jamie, Nialls. The red team won by around 180pts, the game wasn't bad. The last game, however, was a bit strange, as 5 on 4 E4 always is. Plus it was only 15 minutes long. The teams were - Green: Al, John McG, Karl K, Karl L, and Zack; Red: Kev, Blondie, Paddy, Warren. it was a very relaxed and fun game, and the Red team won out in the end by only 25pts - probably due only to the fact that the Greens had less targets. In conclusion, regs night wasn't bad, I'd give it a 7 (out of ten). Average.

I've added 2 new Q-Zar links on the links page, to the 2 countries who have just recently been in contact with us. The first is to Q-Zar Quito, in Ecuador, and the second is an Italian (Codevilla) Q-Zar page. Unfortunately for the English speaking only among us, these websites are at the moment unilingual, in Spanish and Italian respectively. Bummer. You could however, find a rough translation using Babelfish. Later."Gentlemen, to Evil!"
