We managed to squeeze in 4 games last night (although 3 were 20mins), and they were quite good. Only 4 on 4 though, so we played the first 2 as E2 and the last 2 as Super 3. I'm longing for a 6 on6 E4 at the moment. Anyways, the 8 players were: Al, Kev, Karl, Colin, Paddy, Ger, Warren, Zack. For the first 2 games the teams were drawn randomly - Al, Karl, Colin & Ger versus Kev, Paddy, Warren and Zack. No prizes for guessing which team won both, at least we made it close and interesting in the second leg. The 3rd game saw lobsided teams and a 250pt difference - Greens (Al, Paddy, Zack, Kev) beat the Reds (Karl, Ger, Colin, Warren) comfortably, in fact too comfortably so that we couldn't go in with same teams different colours for the last. That was a 4v3: Al, Karl, Ger and Warren versus Kev, Paddy & Zack. Despite Zack's determination to lose by deliberately gifting Supercharge and bases to Ger (how else would he get them), the 3 man team won by a very slender margin of around 20pts. No sign of any old regs, not that we put too much faith in the rumour in the first place. Until Sunday....

No spaniards, and not enough regs, so this morning it was a Reg/SMCP SMC, with 5 games altogether. 14 people turned up: Kev, Dave, Colin, Paddy, Zack, Karl, Keith, Eoin, Jay, Bort, Cojuju, That Guy, Martin, Ed. All the games were Superhcarge 3 - E4 would be a mess with so many bad players, while E2 would see queues forming at the energisers. The games were as to be expected, a little crowded and, well, easy. After picking even teams for a few games we had random teams, which was a disaster. Anyway - Next Monday (the 4th) is a Bank Holiday - so mark you calendars...

The "All-New" player profiles (14 of them) of the current Tallaght regs, are available for viewing on the website now. Their at the same place as before - through the Player Profiles page. They are sorted by players' ranks, as determined by the current ranking poll - and springs a few surprises. But they could change, we still have more rankings to get in.

In other news - Happy Birthday to Dave Sheils - who is 18 today. What, no party??

Regs Night - 3 games of 4 on4, we started late so couldn't squeeze in a late game, but the games were fun nonetheless. That is not to say that the standard was great. The teams for the first 2 games were: Al, Colin, Ger, Zack versus Karl, Kev, Paddy, Warren. Both teams won a leg each, but the former team won their leg by much more. The teams were changed slightly for the final game, all games were Super 3, half-hour long, with the teams as follows: Green - Al, Karl, Paddy, Warren; Red - Kev, Colin, Zack, Ger. The red team won by less than 100pts. The red team won the other games aswell - indicating a bit of a distinct advantage for the colours. Not that the red packs are broken, just that the Greens are.

The all new player profiles will be posted on the website over the next few days - at the moment its Blondie and Dave Shiels up on the noticeboard in Tallaght. Also, with 8 of the Tallaght Players' ranking sheets back, there are 5 more to be collected - Al, Conor, Colin, Warren and Karl L. This hasn't stopped me from ranking Tallaght players with the opinions that we've got so far.

I've just added button links to Bedford Quasar on the pages of the website, and changed Quasar Coolock to Quasar Ireland. There are new links on the links page (including Bedford) and another quick link on the message board.

More Spanish CPs at Sunday Morning Club today, 22 in their group in all, so that the Regs had to go in with the "SMCPs" - which wasn't too bad because there was only a few regs - for 3 games. Those playing were: Kev, Dave, Colin, Blondie, Karl L, Keith & Eoin, and other SMCPs Bort, Ben, Cojuju, Martin, Dean, Ed and That Guy. For the first 2 games the teams were Kev, Dave, Colin, Blondie, Karl, Eoin, Ed versus Keith, Cojuju, Martin, Dean, Bort, Ben, That Guy. The "regs" won both games (which were Super 3) overwhelmingly:707pts to 1pt in the first, 793pts to -3pts in the second. Since the teams were slightly unfair, new teams were picked for the final game. They were Dave, Kev, Karl, Eoin, Bort, Cojuju, Ed (Green) versus Colin, Blondie, Keith, That Guy, Ben, Dean and Martin (Red). Another Supercharge 3 game, the green team winning out by over 100pts in the end. Warren and Ger were present today, but neither loser played.

Expect site updates throughout this week.

Yesterday Regs Night was a pretty boring affair, with the usual problems - unfair teams, people blaming packs, packs not working, people with the wrong attitude (laziness) and just general apathy. Having said that, the games weren't the worst games ever (well, maybe the last), we played 3, the first being E2 5v5, and the next 2 being Super 3. Those who turned up were: Paul (Covmouth), Al, Angela, Kev, Conor, Colin, Karl, Ger, Warren, Zack. No sign of John McGann for the second week running. Dave Shiels was present, but working. For the first 2 games the teams were Al, Kev, Conor, Angela, Zack (Green then Red) versus Karl, Colin, Warren, Ger, Paul. The green team for the first game won by around 100pts, and in the second we cruised to a 302pt win. Angela left (how inconsiderate) for the last game, so it was a 5v4 and lobsided game, without much effort or skill of any kind involved.

3 updates missed, yes I am a lazy bastard. Not much to say about the last SMC though, just Keith, myself and Paul (Covmouth) actually turned up for regs games, so we went in with the SMCPs, while the other game was choc-full of 14 Spanish students. Ah, the memories. So not much action there.

Wednesday last was more eventful, Al, Dave S., Kev, Conor, Paul (Covmouth), Karl K, Colin, Blondie, Zack, Paddy and Warren all played - after a first game 6v5 Dave sat out due to injury and we enjoyed 2 more games, 5v5 Super 3. To round things off those of us still with the will to play - Karl, Kev, Zack, Paddy, Blondie, Warren - played a short game of eliminator (I only played cos I knew I'd win). Some of the packs were quite bad, most were OK though, but the lack of green guns is starting to hit hard, we're starting to miss Greens 2,6 and 10, which are all up in the big pack heaven in the sky.

With the vast majority of Tallaght Players having already filled in their "ranking sheets" we should have Tallaght ranking by sometime next week, although I'm not sure about Coolock, since I left that in Angela's less than capable hands...

More profiles will be posted on the noticeboard tomorrow, for those unimaginative people among you who need them.

New site stuff to report, the Bedford Quasar website is now up and running (as is the centre), with an address at www.bedfordquasar.co.uk, among the sites features are a forum for regs and stats (sort of) from the recent Bedford competition. I will be making a link to that soon, along with Quasar Ireland links, a bit of an update to the site, player profiles and the rankings on the Tallaght website, probably within the next week or two. Wednesday was regs night (The 2nd of July 2003 being 9 years to the day since my first ever game of Quasar) and as usual the games were quite good and enjoyed by all. Thos present included: Al, Kev, Conor, Angela, John McG, Karl K., Zack, Paddy, Colin and Ger and so we played 3 × 30 minute E4 games, which were 5v5. For the first game the teams were Al, Colin, Ger, Karl, Paddy (Red) versus Kev, Conor, Angela, John, Zack (Green). In what was for the most part a tight game, the Reds won out comfortably in the end by of 150pts, and it was concluded that Red 8 should not be used again. It wasn't working properly. A slight change was made to the teams for the next game, Ger and Zack switched places and it was same teams different colours, the Red team won again (which is, the losers from the first game) this time by under 100pts. The third game saw Angela and Ger pick the teams (sigh), and the result of this was as follows: Green - Kev, Ger, Colin, Karl, Paddy; Red - Al, Zack, Conor, Angela, John. The Green team won by 143pts (200pts of which were made by the solo attack :)) in what was another good, fun game. The last game was a 4 man solo eliminator lasting 15 minutes, players being John, Kev, Ger, Karl. Ger was first to be knocked out after just 5 minutes, then went John with just a couple of minutes left. Both other players stayed in until the end of the game, which I won.

Players who recieved their "player ranking sheets" on Wednesday were Ger, Karl, and Conor, while so far we have the opinions of Kev, Angela, Zack, Paddy, and Dave Sheils yet to return his.
